My family and I have been training here for several years and it's a welcoming atmosphere. The culture here values family and community. The gym is well kept and the ppl are considerate and friendly. The coaches are passionate in their disciplines to help their students progress in their goals.
This gym has so many disciplines with bjj, mma, muay thai, judo. There's not enough days in the week to keep up with the amount of classes offered. The coaches and students are active competitors, world champions, UFC fighters, UFC veterans. If you're curious about trying something hard but very rewarding, I say take a leap of faith and discover a version of yourself that's always been inside of you!

Passing through town dropped in. Nice spot! They are one of the few with morning classes. Fundamentals Class. Good instruction and friendly folks. I liked the structured rolling at the end. Rolls were friendly and chill. I got schooled by a female blue who was surgical and strong and a friendly purple who coached me through whipping my ass. They have a nice mix of striking, mma and Bjj throughout the day. But also pretty traditional on the Bjj side which I appreciate. Also very nice mats which I have gained an appreciation for!

The atmosphere is very welcoming and each coach wants to see you get better and you can come in no matter what skill level you are. Hands down the best gym I’ve visited in the Denver area. The coaches are top tier. They’re always readily available to answer any questions or concerns you have. They’ll even teach you how to adapt with certain injuries you’re recovering from. The welcoming vibe from the front desk makes everything feel painless. You truly feel like you’re at home in every single class. You never lack a top level training partner. Tons of higher level belts and strikers take the fundamental classes as well. You’re always getting different looks every class, so you always have a chance to improve your game. Cody and Julie run an amazing gym, youth programs, and I always leave class with a smile on my face. Cannot recommend this gym enough; for both new and returning martial artists.

High Altitude Martial Arts (HAMA) is hands down one of the best gyms I’ve ever trained at. The environment is professional, motivating, and welcoming at the same time. Wether you’re brand new or experienced, they really make sure you’re learning the right way and pushing yourself to improve.
Huge shoutout to the coaches — Jake(both of them), Shae, Velour, Avery, Eric, and Joey. Every one of them brings something different to the table, and you can tell they genuinely care about your progress. They take the time to explain technique, correct mistakes, and actually help you get better instead of just running you through workouts.
The culture here is solid — no ego, just hard work, respect, and people trying to improve. If you’re serious about martial arts, fitness, and becoming better mentally and physically, this is the place to be. Highly recommend HAMA to anyone looking for a real gym with real coaching. #Oss 🥋

My Daughter go's here she loves it so much she wants to go everyday. She has learned good skill to protect her self. As well as self discipline. She likes the couches and the staff. Everyone is friendly and helpful. And the price is very affordable. She is 15 and enjoys a safe place to learn jiu jitsu and striking.

The staff is super friendly, polite, and helpful, always ready to jump into conversation and help with any questions you may have. The instructors are friendly, professional, and knowledgeable, and are great teachers and coaches, always ready to work with you where you're at. They're also very experienced, as many are or were professional fighters themselves, so you get to learn from a firsthand source. The class schedule is super flexible, too, with classes offered six days a week, beginner and drop-in friendly. It's also always really clean, which I appreciate especially because of the high, dense traffic and how large the mats and cage are - there's plenty of space for everyone.
But the community and environment here are truly the best. I learned so much in just the first lesson, and continue to learn lots with every class not only because of the instructors but because of the other students. They value safety and cooperation above all, emphasizing consideration for not only yourself but others around you to help you not only as a martial artist but as part of their community. The staff also frequently host seasonal community events outside of classes to bring everyone together. They represent excellence of the highest order, operating with respect, integrity, open and honest communication, and a highly enthusiastic and inclusive mindset, welcoming people of all cultures and backgrounds to train and learn together. The sports and community here have helped me mentally and physically so much, I truly don't know where I'd be without them.

I attended an all levels striking and an advanced striking class here while I was visiting from out of town. I was very impressed by the high level of training and the quality of the facility! Huge mat spaces, with a big cage, so everyone has plenty of space to work with multiple classes happening at the same time easily.
The coaches were incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, helping even the visitor with fine tuning their technique. Many gyms will not care about visiting people since they won’t represent their gym in competition, but that was not the case here!
I’m so glad I chose High Altitude of all the options I had, and I would love to return next time I’m in Denver.

I’m a 50 year old guy that picked up BJJ late and transferred to HAMA after 3 years training. This place is great. So many families, young adults, older adults, teens, kids. There are three classes and privates all happening at once across the different mat spaces, but each class feels small. Everyone looks out for each other, it’s clean and everyone’s always leaning and smiling. It’s a good spot.

This is 100% one of the best martial arts gyms in Colorado! Their lead BJJ instructor Avery and new lead striking Gui (from Alpha Male) are absolutely world class.
The owner Cody, who also runs the pro MMA practice is highly experienced and extremely dedicated to success of his fighters. The practices are high level and a ton fun (highlight of my day).
The staff is super warm and friendly and the showers are big and clean 🙂 10/10!

We have been to a few events held here and what a great place to host a kids birthday party! Lots of open space to have the kids run around and play games. The staff and owners are great and helpful. Even if you're not a member you can contact them to host your next party!

I’ve moved to multiple states looking for a home gym. When I walked in I was welcomed with open arms and I was impressed with how big the classes are. There’s beginner to advanced classes with wonderful teachers so I would recommend this gym to anyone interested in martial arts. If you’re a serious MMA fighter then this is the gym in CO. It’s evident by the fighters that train there. I could go on and on about how much I love this gym. If you want to train this gym is a must try.

This place has changed my family’s life forever. Seven years ago I was at a tough place emotionally, spiritually, and was in constant turmoil trying to navigate my life as a mid thirties male trying to start and raise a family in today’s world. I was provided the outlet and guidance I needed, and continue to need to this day. My family and I have been given so much opportunity by not only the owner and his family, but by everyone we have come into contact with. The skill level at this gym is amazing. I am very happy to be a part of it. There is something here for everyone. It started with me and my two youngest children. Within a couple of years my entire family started training. My life could be very different today had I not walked through the open doors into such a great place with great values, culture, and world class martial arts. I am forever grateful for this place.

Couldn’t ask for more than what HAMA offers. Our whole family trains here. Their kids program is astounding, the kids coaches truly care and are so personable with the kids. The adult classes are also amazing, they’re so inclusive! The coaches and professors are all friendly and eager to teach. Being a female myself, I’ve felt very safe and welcomed here (that’s a huge deal to me).

I was visiting from St. Louis and dropped in at High Altitude Martial Arts while in Denver. From the moment I walked through the doors, the hospitality was incredible. Everyone was welcoming, easy to talk to, and willing to share knowledge. The coaches—no matter their belt level—were not only extremely knowledgeable but genuinely cared about every single person on the mat. I’ll be making this my go-to spot every time I’m in Denver. Highly recommend to anyone looking for top-tier training and an amazing atmosphere!

There are levels to martial arts academies and High Altitude is just on another level. I have trained at a number of schools on the east coast and none offer what they do. Whether you are looking for a kids program, are a middle aged hobbyist like myself, an aspiring professional, or already a pro they got you covered. BJJ or striking, the coaches are not only great martial artists, but great at coaching others. The owner of the gym is a former professional fighter who now trains pro fighters, regularly jumps in to teach the youth classes. I can’t stress to my children enough how rare/special it is to learn from someone with a resume like that. The staff are helpful and polite regardless of what your rank is and that starts at the top. The facility is top notch and always clean. The martial arts community is special and High Altitude showcases all that is great about it. Really can’t say enough, so if you’re on the fence about it, get off of it and go check it out.

We had the BEST experience celebrating my son’s birthday here! The staff was absolutely amazing—friendly, energetic, and truly engaged. They didn’t just supervise the activities—they participated right alongside the kids, which made a huge difference. The kids were able to connect with them, and it created such a fun, welcoming vibe. Even the adults jumped in and played Nerf gun wars, making the party unforgettable for everyone. The facility itself was clean, well-maintained, and perfect for a high-energy celebration. Every guest left smiling, and we would 100% do it all over again. Highly recommend!

Decided to give High Altitude a try and I loved it! The staff and coaches are really professional and cordial. I took a beginners class and it was awesome! I learned a lot just from a single session. This establishment made me fall back in love with the sport. I would highly recommend High Altitude Martial Arts if you are considering getting into mma. I give them 10/10 and would definitely come back again!
