High Altitude’s very own, head youth Kickboxing Coach, Cory Sandhagen, will face Petr Yan on Oct 30’s at UFC 267 in Abu Dhabi. This co-main event will crown an interim bantamweight champion. The current champion, Aljamain Sterling, is still recovering from neck surgery so is unable to compete at this time. With Sterling out, the gears were immediately shifted to Sandhagen. Even though he lost to former champion TJ Dillashaw, it was a super close match that resulted in a win for Dillashaw via a controversial split decision. Dillashaw is also injured at the moment. The winner of Yan/Sandhagen will move on to fight Sterling for the bantamweight belt.
Our beloved Coach Cory started his MMA journey right here in Aurora, CO at High Altitude Martial Arts. He is an inspiration to his students and we are so lucky to have him.
