So you have decided to start a new work out, a new beginning or adding to your current workout. Trying a kickboxing fundamentals class just might be what you are looking for! In a fundamentals class you will have everyone from very beginner to expert level wanting to improve themselves. This all body workout is heart pumping using all parts of your brain while using movement to punching and kicking. Learning how to breathe while being able to move while trying to remember your left from your right. Kickboxing has numerous health benefits, it will help with balance coordination and overall health. You will learn how to use your body in a different way, not just your traditional weightlifting or your traditional aerobics class. In fundamentals, you will learn the basics of Dutch K1 kickboxing, you will learn some traditional Muay Thai knees and elbows along with different styles of western boxing.

FIRST CLASS EXPECTATIONS

A fundamentals kickboxing class will start out with a warm up which includes stretching to get that brain fired up for what evolution is about to happen. In the class each instructor will have a planned workout consisting of stretching, learning a new movement then building on that movement. Some weeks are kick weeks, other weeks are clench weeks to just a punches or footwork technique week. Each class will have a technique lesson where you will learn the proper way to hit and use your body all together as one. After drilling the move with your partner, you will build onto that with addition techniques. Slow and steady is key here. You want to learn proper technique from the begging to build good habits. You will be with a new partner each class, each time your partner will help you learn and you will help them learn. We encourage newer students to partner up with more experienced students to enhance the learning process. The instructor will help match you with another student each class. Then the muscle memory will take over and it will just flow. You will meet new friends who become training partners who will help you learn. You will engage every muscle in your core, every muscle in your body. You will feel exhausted and exhilarated, just in that first 20 minutes of class.
