FREE Anti-Bullying Seminar at High Altitude Martial Arts

Bullying is something many kids will encounter at some point, whether they are being bullied themselves, watching it happen to someone else, or learning how their own words and actions affect others.

At High Altitude Martial Arts, we believe kids should have the confidence and skills to stand up for themselves and others. That’s why we’re hosting a FREE Anti-Bullying Seminar on Sunday, August 30th from 1:00–2:30 PM.

The seminar is open to school-aged children ages 4 and up, and non-members are welcome! No previous martial arts experience is necessary.

Learn the 3 T’s

One of the main lessons of our seminar will be the 3 T’s—simple, easy-to-remember tools kids can use when faced with bullying.

We’ll help kids understand how to recognize bullying, respond confidently, set boundaries, and know when it’s time to involve a trusted adult.

Most importantly, kids will get a chance to practice these skills instead of simply hearing someone talk about them.

What to Do When You’re Being Bullied

Being bullied can make a child feel scared, embarrassed, angry, or unsure of what to do next.

During the seminar, kids will learn practical ways to handle these situations, including using confident body language and a strong voice, walking away when possible, getting help from an adult, and recognizing when a situation has become unsafe.

We’ll also introduce age-appropriate Jiu Jitsu skills that can help kids protect themselves if they are unable to safely get away.

The goal isn’t to teach kids to fight. It’s to teach them how to stay calm, make good decisions, and have the confidence to stand up for themselves.

What to Do When You See Bullying

Kids aren’t always the person being bullied. Sometimes they’re the ones watching it happen.

We’ll talk about what kids can do when they see someone else being picked on or bullied. That could mean getting an adult, refusing to participate or laugh, inviting the child to come with them, or simply letting someone know they’re not alone.

We want kids to understand that you don’t have to be the target of bullying to help stop it.

Why You Shouldn’t Be a Bully

Preventing bullying also means helping kids recognize their own behavior.

We’ll talk about the difference between joking around and hurting someone, why our words and actions matter, and what it means to treat other people with respect.

Martial arts teaches us that being strong isn’t about intimidating someone else. Real strength comes with self-control, kindness, confidence, and responsibility.

Jiu Jitsu Skills + Games

This isn’t a sit-down lecture!

Kids will be moving, interacting, playing Jiu Jitsu games, and learning basic skills throughout the seminar. The activities are designed to keep kids engaged while reinforcing confidence, awareness, teamwork, and problem-solving.

No Jiu Jitsu experience is needed. Just come ready to learn and have fun!
