We’re proud to welcome world-class talent to the High Altitude Martial Arts coaching staff, Guilherme Faria, a seasoned professional MMA fighter, two-time Muay Thai World Champion, and elite-level striking coach with over two decades of experience in the fight game.
Coach Guilherme will be leading our new Advanced Striking class every Tuesday and Thursday at 10AM. This class is designed to help martial artists in MMA to level up as this class offers a unique opportunity to learn from one of the sport’s most respected coaches.
Who Is Guilherme Faria?
Originally from Limeira, São Paulo, Brazil, Guilherme began his martial arts journey at just 10 years old. What began as a personal passion became a lifelong pursuit of excellence in combat sports. He has developed a reputation not only for his technical mastery but also for his leadership, mentorship, and commitment to developing students at all levels.
Career Highlights:
- 25 professional Muay Thai fights with 20 wins
- Over 30 amateur Muay Thai bouts
- Two-time Muay Thai World Champion in Thailand (2014 and 2017)
- XFC Featherweight Grand Prix Champion
- 29 professional MMA fights, with 19 victories, including 10 by knockout
- Former head Muay Thai coach at Team Alpha Male (2018–2022)
A Coach with a Fighter’s Mindset
Guilherme holds the rank of Kru Yai (Black-and-White Prajied) in Muay Thai, certified by Grand Master Paulo Nikolai and the Brazilian Muay Thai Confederation (CBMTU). As a coach, he’s known for his precision, clarity, and ability to teach high-level concepts in a way that’s accessible and effective.
His system blends traditional Muay Thai with the demands of modern MMA, with a focus on:
- Striking mechanics and technique
- Cage control and ring awareness
- Advanced clinch work
- Footwork and distance management
- Defensive strategy and countering
- Fight-specific tactics for MMA competition

More Than a Fighter
At 17, Guilherme opened Academia Faria, his own martial arts academy in Brazil. Over time, it grew into one of Limeira’s most respected gyms, known for cultivating competitive athletes and offering a supportive space for beginners alike. Guilherme is a teacher at heart, committed to helping all students grow, whether they’re aspiring champions or everyday practitioners.

Open to experienced students (blue shirt and up) and fighters
This class features a mix of technical drills, pad work, situational sparring, footwork development, and live application, all with an emphasis on practical use in MMA.
